Kindernothilfe Luxembourg was founded in June 2009. We protect, support and strengthen children that are living in the poorest regions of the world. We achieve this through development projects and by providing help after natural catastrophes in our partner countries.
The people involved in providing help must be aware of local traditions. Therefore we work exclusively with experienced local partners to ensure that the help given has a positive impact in the long term. Our major principles are the protection of the children’s rights and help towards independence.
In the first two years the organisation developed on the basis of voluntary work. In 2011, we moved to our first office in Luxembourg-Neudorf. Since 2015, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg has had its headquarters in Luxembourg-Eecherschmelz and has been operated by three part-time employees.
In May 2013, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg was officially recognised by the state of Luxembourg as a non-profit organisation (ONG). Since March 2013 we have been a member of the Cercle de Coopération des ONG de développement in Luxembourg.
Donations to Kindernothilfe Luxembourg are tax-deductible in accordance with the Luxembourgish tax law (Articles 109 and 112).
Our annual financial statements are reviewed by an independent certified auditor (BDO Luxembourg) and published in the Commercial Register.
Our annual report is published in German and French. Please find the latest version here.
