Support a project that means a lot to you

Children, who grow up healthy. Girls, who are not married as teenagers but can go to school. Street children, who find a safe home. People, who stand up for children’s rights. You can help make all of these and so much more come true by becoming a project sponsor.

Help children in need now by sponsoring a project

By sponsoring a project, you are expressly supporting a project you consider especially important. You are making an active contribution to improving the lives of children and their families involved in the projects.

For example, you can support the construction of wells for drinking water, enable young people to receive an education or actively campaign to empower women and ensure food security for children. As a project sponsor, you are part of a community that is making a special project possible!

We have broken down the project costs into their constituent parts. You can decide whether to support one or more of these project components. As a project sponsor, you will receive our annual report which provides detailed information about which specific goals are being achieved and how many children are benefiting from the project.

All projects are co-ordinated by our team in Luxembourg and are regularly visited to ensure that the funds you are providing are used properly.

Frequently asked questions

  • For as little as 15 euros per month, you can be part of the community of project sponsors, who, together, help make project implementation a reality. You will automatically receive a donation confirmation receipt for your sponsorship fees (at the beginning of each year for the previous year), which you can use to claim your contributions for tax-relief purposes.
  • At the beginning of each project, specific goals are set – for example, to enable 500 children in a region to go to school. A project is only successfully completed when these goals have been reached. On average, this takes three to five years. However, some projects, such as a drop-in centre for street children, are also run on a long-term basis to help as many children as possible. When the project you are sponsoring has been completed, we will be happy to present another to you.
  • No, if you decide to sponsor a project, you are not bound by any contractual obligations. You can end your commitment at any time, with no explanation required.
  • Yes, you can visit your project and gain a first-hand insight into progress and developments. If you have any questions regarding a visit, please contact us six to eight weeks in advance of your trip – so that, together, we can make the necessary preparations.
  • We would encourage you to do so! A project sponsorship is a gift that brings pleasure in so many ways: to the recipient, to the project and to yourself. If you would like to make a gift of a project sponsorship to someone else, simply let us know when you take on the sponsorship.

Zambia: combating hunger

40 percent of children in Zambia are suffering from nutritional underdevelopment. By sponsoring a project, you will assist single mothers and poor families by providing them with training in climate-adapted agriculture, livestock breeding and honey production. So that their children no longer have to suffer from hunger.

Lebanon: help for Syrian refugee children

For more than twelve years, now, a devastating war has been raging in Syria. Eighty-five percent of all Syrian children have suffered severe trauma. With a project sponsorship, you enable Syrian refugee children to receive an education and psychological support so that they can build a better future for themselves.

Malawi: clean water for healthy children

Half of the population have no direct access to clean drinking water. Many children become sick as a result of drinking unsafe water. Your sponsorship helps finance the construction of drinking water wells to ensure that they remain healthy and can learn better.
