(Luxembourg, 28th March 2018) Children from the Maison Relais Toeresgäertchen in Saeul wanted to do something for children in need. And so, in September 2017, they began sponsoring a disadvantaged girl, 9-year-old Merina, in Uganda. They are so happy to be able to support and be in contact with her.
The sponsorship allows them to share in Merina’s experiences as she makes her way towards an independent life and to help ensure she is well equipped for her future: regular meals, basic medical care, schooling and a healthy dose of self-confidence.
The schoolchildren have now received letters and photos from Merina and are happy to be in regular contact with the 9-year-old.
They cover the cost of the sponsorship fee of 31 euros per month themselves: by running various campaigns throughout the year, for example selling homemade Christmas decorations at the last winter festival.
